Dental Implant
A crown is a cap which covers the damaged tooth. With the combined strength of the tooth and the crown material it actually prolongs the life of the tooth, maintaining a completely natural look and feel. With attention to home care, it will last a very long time.
Bridges and dentures are sound dentistry, but have drawbacks. A bridge is attached to crowns on either side of a missing tooth. Tooth structure must be removed from those healthy teeth to hold the crowns. If there is a problem with the one tooth in the bridge, the entire bridge is impacted and usually needs to be replaced. And, a bridge cannot be flossed in between the teeth, the major cause of failure.
Implants resolve these issues. Since it is an individual tooth, placing an implant does not damage the adjacent teeth. A problem with the implant (while that is rare) or an adjoining tooth won't affect other teeth. The implant can be (and should be!) brushed and flossed, ensuring its long life. Dental implants are more secure than dentures - no worries with poor fit or lose dentures anymore. Implants are there to hold your dentures in place.
The dental implant has two parts. First, a titanium screw, similar to the root of the missing tooth, is inserted into the jawbone. Titanium is biocompatible - the human body accepts it readily with little chance of rejection. Titanium has been in use in the medical field for years in procedures such as hip, shoulder, and other hard tissue replacement.
Once integrated into the bone, the screw provides a stable base for the crown. The crown is made of porcelain, for a natural look and feel. Since the whole replacement tooth is porcelain (not just a shell like a conventional crown), it is thick and strong.
Anyone with one or more missing teeth can consider dental implants. We can even stabilize areas with considerable bone loss.
The dental implant takes a little while to complete, but the benefits are remarkable. It is a permanent, durable solution that's easy to maintain. With good home care, the implant will last a lifetime.
Advantages of dental Implants over Crown & Bridge
- This is quickly becoming the gold standard in tooth replacement.
- An implant - supported restoration is the closest thing to a natural tooth that modern science has developed. It will look, feel, and function just like a natural tooth, and require no additional care.
- Cost Effectiveness - Dental implants can increase the upfront cost of replacing teeth. But, implants are expected to last a lifetime, and are considered a permanent tooth replacement option. Hence, in the long-term, the cost is actually lower than other alternatives that would have to be replaced periodically.
- Acceptability - Dental Implants are made of titanium metal (same metal used in case knee joint replacement procedure), which has highest level of acceptance by body.
- Dental implant mimics the root of teeth and facilities the Osseointegration (formation of bone surrounding the implant), without an implant or a tooth root, the bone would begin deteriorating instead.

Dentures
None of us want to lose our teeth, and if we do happen to lose a few, the last thing we want is for everyone to know.
Dentures are basically false teeth. They are custom fit for your mouth for an optimal fit and feel while biting, talking, etc. Occasionally, implants are needed in addition to the dentures to help hold them in place.
Chaudhari' Dental Clinic offers partial dentures (including flexible Denture), Complete Denture, Cast Partial Dentures.
In certain cases, even implant supported denture can be fixed.
Smile Designing
Smile design is a procedure wherein we completely assess and redesign your smile with a host of modern cosmetic dentistry procedures, taking into account your personality, face shape, tooth color, and tooth size. With veneers & laminates, gum line reshaping, teeth whitening, and implants( for missing teeth) , a million-dollar smile can be a reality!
Veneers and Laminates
If you have any intrinsic staining-staining from the inside of your teeth - caused by trauma, medications, or fluorosis, traditional teeth whitening methods won't do the trick, hope is not lost. It comes in the form of porcelain veneers (sometimes also incorrectly called dental crowns or dental caps), which are thin porcelain sleeves that are bonded to the surfaces of your teeth. The process takes place over a few trips to the dentist, which includes a consultation to determine if you are a candidate for treatment, taking impressions of your mouth, and finally, bonding the veneers.
Laminates are a type of veneer in that they are usually made of porcelain, and they are bonded to the fronts of your teeth. However, they are stronger and thinner than traditional porcelain veneers, thereby giving them a longer lifespan than veneers as well. Typical veneers last approximately five years, whereas laminates can last up to twenty years.
Also, for some patients, laminates can be a viable alternative to braces.
Seal the tooth (Pit and fissure sealants)
Many of the cavities that occur during childhood start in the deep, tiny grooves of teeth, especially molars. These grooves are difficult to clean with brush and floss. Plaque and bacteria accumulates in these grooves which can initiate the caries process.
A tooth sealant - also known as a dental sealant - is a plastic resin placed in the grooves of the chewing surfaces of teeth that are difficult to clean. This prevents plaque from settling into those crevices, making it much easier to clean away plaque and bacteria.
Sealants are typically applied to children's teeth as a preventative measure during the formative years, when tooth decay is most prevalent, but may be applied to adult's teeth as well depending on each person's level of need.
Mouth Guards
Years past, dentists used dark, silver-like fillings (amalgams) to fill in the holes left in teeth after a cavity has been removed. Not only were these not attractive, but they had the tendency to break down over time, allowing for new cavities to form underneath the amalgam.
Dr. Chaudhari only uses tooth-colored composite fillings, because not only do they look more natural, but they are actually stronger and safer, too. If you have any of the old amalgam fillings, talk to us about replacing them with the composite fillings.
To eliminate this problem Chaudhari's Dental Clinic can provide you mouth guard or night guard. It takes only one impression and laboratory work. This will help you to avoid the damage to teeth and other oral tissue.

Scaling and Root Planing
Scaling and root planing is the most common and conservative form of treatment for periodontal disease before it becomes severe. This technique allows dental professionals to clean between teeth and gums, all the way down to the roots.
Scaling and root planing remove the plaque and calculus. Plaque is more likely to stick to rough surfaces. For this reason, the root surface is made smooth in a process called root planing. Root planing removes any remaining calculus and smoothes irregular areas of the root surface.
For early stages of the disease, this treatment may be all that is needed to get the condition under control. This is especially effective with gingivitis. With more advanced gum disease, scaling and root planing may be the first step before surgery.
Orthodontic Treatment/teeth straightening / habit breaking
Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth, to improve the appearance of the teeth and face. It can also help to look after the long-term health of the teeth, gums and jaw joints, by spreading the biting pressure over all the teeth.
The way that our teeth bite together is called the occlusion. People who have teeth that don't bite together evenly have a malocclusion. You may have upper front teeth that stick out, or you may find the way your upper and lower jaws meet leads to an incorrect bite and makes your teeth look unsightly.
Orthodontic treatment usually involves wearing a brace (appliance). This puts gentle pressure on specific teeth to move them into the right place and usually takes one to two years, depending on the severity of the problem. During this period, your orthodontist at Chaudhari's Dental Clinic will need to monitor you closely and make adjustments to the brace.
Teeth straightening is usually carried out in childhood. Malocclusions can be successfully corrected in adults but the treatment may take longer. To get the best results from orthodontic treatment, you need to wear the brace as instructed, go to all of your appointments and take special care of your teeth.
